That’s a nice tips to ensure the PDF will be interpreted correctly in some older RIP too. But this will not eliminate the content of the file outside the crop area. The objects will still be there but hidden. 

I have already talk about this on my blog almost three years ago. That was for Acrobat 9, but it is still true for Acrobat X.

What need to be done is a new Preflight setting with both a fix for the Media box, and ALSO the removal of object outside the crop.
